If you want to learn how to not fail in 2024, this blog is for you.

It’s hard to believe that this is the last 5-Flex Friday of 2023!

First, here’s what’s new in my world this week. Please click to find out more:

Moving on, here are 2 fitness concepts, 2 mindset nuggets, and a quote to consider this week.

2 Fitness Concepts

  1. You pay for clarity

A massive part of investing in a coach is so you know what not to do. Overwhelm and information overload will continue becoming the biggest challenge for you in 2024.

With AI exploding, the amount of options is going to grow exponentially.

You don’t need more options, you need clarity on what option to follow and support on sticking to that option long term.

That’s why I continue to pay professionals for their services.

If you already know what to do, maybe it’s time to honestly ask yourself, “why haven’t I done then?”

2. Is this repeatable?

When setting goals this year, ask yourself this. “What activity do I want to repeat daily this year?” It’s most likely not a killer HIIT workout.

For me, a daily walk in nature, without any devices, was the most beneficial habit I developed in 2023.

It needs to be easy to repeat to become a lifelong habit.

2 Mindset Nuggets

  1. What controllables can you add to your week?

On Wednesday I shared the dream week activity (See here). You have control over a lot of things in your life. Schedule the things you enjoy into your week. Now focus on having as many of those weeks as possible.

If my week consists of only things I hate, I’ll feel like shit. Why wouldn’t I?

  1. If then, what?

Instead of mapping out all these exciting goals, spend 10 minutes mapping out your “if then, what?” strategy.

Every year you get sick, stressed, exhausted, time poor. Stop feeling surprised when this happens in 2024 and create an “if then, what” strategy.

  • If I get stressed, then I’ll focus on staying off my phone and walking more.
  • If I get sick, then I’ll take time off from exercise without beating myself up.
  • If I get exhausted, I’ll focus on getting to bed an hour earlier and not checking my phone in the first and last hour of the day.

This will mean you aren’t derailed when this happens in 2024.

1 Quote to Consider

“It’s a lack of clarity that creates chaos and frustration. Those emotions are poison to any living goal.”

― Steve Maraboli
